{"id":987,"date":"2025-02-18T08:35:05","date_gmt":"2025-02-18T11:35:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ee.usp.br\/proesa\/eng\/nossa-historia-clone"},"modified":"2025-02-18T09:15:26","modified_gmt":"2025-02-18T12:15:26","slug":"learn-about-proesa","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ee.usp.br\/proesa\/eng\/learn-about-proesa","title":{"rendered":"Learn about PROESA"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Our History<\/h2>\n<p>The Postgraduate Program in Nursing in Adult Health (PROESA) of the USP School of Nursing was created in 2000 from a merger of the \u201cFundamentals of Nursing\u201d and \u201cNursing of Institutionalized Adult Health\u201d concentration areas, previously belonging to the Postgraduate Program in Nursing of the University of S\u00e3o Paulo School of Nursing (EEUSP).<\/p>\n<p>PROESA\u2019s core focus is to develop studies on advanced nursing care models and practices. PROESA\u2019s Master\u2019s and Doctorate courses are recommended and recognized by CAPES with a score of 7.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-997\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ee.usp.br\/proesa\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/mission.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"370\" height=\"418\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ee.usp.br\/proesa\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/mission.png 370w, https:\/\/www.ee.usp.br\/proesa\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/mission-133x150.png 133w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 370px) 100vw, 370px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>PROESA\u2019s mission is to train human resources of excellence in research at the Academic Master\u2019s (MA), Academic Doctorate (DO) and Post-Doctorate (Pos-Doc) levels by training nurses and other health professionals for knowledge production, scientific updating and improvement in care technology processes within the scope of Nursing in Adult Health, integrating nursing science knowledge with that of other disciplines. Graduates are expected to be capable of driving research, education and care in advanced clinical practices, within the legal and ethical scope of the profession.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-996\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ee.usp.br\/proesa\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/proposal.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"370\" height=\"418\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ee.usp.br\/proesa\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/proposal.png 370w, https:\/\/www.ee.usp.br\/proesa\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/proposal-133x150.png 133w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 370px) 100vw, 370px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>to produce innovative and rigorously constructed knowledge, respecting ethical aspects;<\/li>\n<li>to train human resource leaders with critical-reflective skills to promote educational interventions, linked to the needs of higher education in nursing;<\/li>\n<li>develop behaviors of continuous scientific updating and constant improvement in care technologies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-994\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ee.usp.br\/proesa\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/objectives.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"370\" height=\"418\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ee.usp.br\/proesa\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/objectives.png 370w, https:\/\/www.ee.usp.br\/proesa\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/objectives-133x150.png 133w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 370px) 100vw, 370px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The objectives of PROESA courses are for students to be able to:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Master\u2019s Degree<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>\u2013 access knowledge sources incorporating methods for searching for the best scientific evidence to support decision-making in healthcare, educational practice and research in Adult Health Nursing;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 systematize the search for knowledge and analyze scientific advances on the study subject;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 identify the state of the art, gaps and trends in knowledge in the area;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 delimit research problems;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 analyze the scientific method and ethical aspects of studies;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 critically interpret research designs and results;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 guide undergraduate students in scientific initiation (SI) and course completion projects (CCP) accompanied by their supervisor;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 identify learning needs and contribute to implement teaching programs in the area.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Doctorate<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>\u2013 identify health and nursing problems and define research priorities in the country;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 plan research designs that are consistent with the proposed objectives;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 analyze the impact of research in related areas and in society;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 manage research projects in relation to the phenomenon under study;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 analyze the relationships between science, university and society;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 articulate research developed in the \u200b\u200bnursing and adult healthcare areas with that conducted in other areas;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 demonstrate an acquisition of multiple knowledge perspectives, integrating what exists in the \u200b\u200badult health nursing area with different knowledge areas;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 supervise undergraduate students in SI and CCP, tutor research by students in specialization courses and accompany their supervisor in master\u2019s degree supervision;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 demonstrate the ability to work in research groups, seek funding for scientific research and perform internationalization activities.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>All objectives of the MA must be met by DO students, and the work for the latter must begin in the MA.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our History The Postgraduate Program in Nursing in Adult Health (PROESA) of the USP School of Nursing was created in 2000 from a merger of the \u201cFundamentals of Nursing\u201d and \u201cNursing of Institutionalized Adult Health\u201d concentration areas, previously belonging to the Postgraduate Program in Nursing of the University of S\u00e3o Paulo School of Nursing (EEUSP).
